Contender 44 Canyon

The 13.3 metre long, stepped hull Contender 44 Canyon will get you where you want to be quickly, and with a ride that has to be experienced to be believed. This is one of the softest riding offshore hulls money can buy. It is the ultimate weekend family fishing machine with seating for up to 18 adults with a beautiful airconditioned cabin to get away from the elements.

The Contender 44 Canyon is a centre console design, maintaining space and freedom of movement around the deck. Keen anglers will appreciate the 416 litre kill tanks on both port and starboard sides and the twin live wells holding 200 litres each. Contender did not sacrifice any fishability in this model.

Passengers are always comfortable in the dual row of helm seats providing seating for seven adults under the oversized hardtop. Forward bow seating accommodates an additional six adults, and an oversized front lounger with integrated armrests provides a great location to kick back and take in some sun.

The captain’s console on the Contender 44 Canyon will accommodate multi-screen layouts with no limitations on size. There is an oversized switch panel for all your electronics.

Hidden inside the centre console is a cabin with a queen bed, galley and head which you can personalise with your choice of Corian benchtops. To maximise space in the cabin, the toilet slides away beneath the electronics area. The head height is excellent in the cabin with the bed running north/south under the front lounger.

You can rig a total of 200hp on this boat in triple or quad configuration. Top speeds in excess of 110 km/h are possible and you will be cruising comfortably at 80 km/h. The Contender 44 Canyon has a beam of 3.65 metres and carries 2,271 litres of fuel, giving you a solid range for chasing gamefish anywhere on the east or west coast.
